BV County Public Health and Home Care monitors and investigates cases of infectious disease to help prevent the spread of illness and protect the health of our community. When concerns arise, we act quickly to find the source and stop further transmission.
Stopping the Spread Before It Starts
Disease investigation is a critical part of public health. Identifying infections early allows us to limit exposure, inform those at risk and connect individuals with the care they need.
Our team uses established public health protocols to respond quickly, accurately and respectfully—helping keep everyone in the community informed and protected.
Our disease investigation efforts include:

Monitoring reports of infectious diseases in coordination with state health officials, including TB infection

Contact tracing and outreach to those who may have been exposed

Providing education on symptoms, transmission and prevention

Connecting individuals to testing and treatment

Working with schools, healthcare providers and local partners to contain outbreaks
