Oral Health
Healthier Smiles for a Healthy Community
At BV County Public Health, we know good oral health is essential to overall well-being. That’s why we focus on increasing access to care, raising awareness and supporting healthy habits in our community. Through free dental clinics, education and partnerships that expand local resources, we’re helping every resident get the tools they need to maintain a healthy smile.

In partnership with Delta Dental Insurance, BVCPH has successfully brought two free dental clinics to Storm Lake, offering essential dental services to those with limited access to care. Through this partnership, BVCPH has also been awarded two grants that provided water bottle filling stations in two area communities, promoting the health benefits of drinking water—especially water containing fluoride—as a critical part of preventing tooth decay.
BVCPH’s commitment to community outreach includes distributing free toothbrushes and toothpaste at local events, while also educating residents—both young and old—on good oral hygiene habits such as regular brushing and flossing, routine dental visits and the importance of diet and water intake for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
Public Health continues to work closely with local organizations to connect residents with dentists and dental resources, ensuring that oral health remains a priority in the overall well-being of the community.
